Reinstate Your License

Any standard or provisional Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, or Hearing Aid Specialist license that has been expired no more than 3 years is eligible for reinstatement. 

Requirements

Audiologists

  • Continuing Education: At least 10 hours in the last 12 months and directly pertaining to the practice of Audiology. At least 1 of the 10 hours must relate to ethics, cultural competence, cultural humility, culturally responsive practices or diversity, equity and inclusion. You must list these hours in your application but do not need to attach documentation. More information may be found on our Continuing Education page. 

Dispensing Audiologists

  • Continuing Education: At least 10 hours in the last 12 months and directly pertaining to the practice of Audiology. At least 1 of the 10 hours must relate to ethics, cultural competence, cultural humility, culturally responsive practices or diversity, equity and inclusion. At least 3 of the 10 hours must relate directly to the practice of fitting and dispensing hearing aids. You must list these hours in your application but do not need to attach documentation. More information may be found on our Continuing Education page. 

  • Dispensing Examinations: You must retake both the written and practical examinations unless one of the conditions below applies:

    • You passed the examinations within the past 5 years; OR

    • You did not pass the examinations within the past 5 years but are currently licensed and actively practicing in another state. Board staff will attempt to complete verification of your out-of-state license online. If not available in your state, please request an official license verification to be sent directly to the Board either via postal mail or email to board@nvspeechhearing.org.

Speech-Language Pathologists

  • Continuing Education: At least 10 hours in the last 12 months and directly pertaining to the practice of Speech-Language Pathology. At least 1 of the 10 hours must relate to ethics, cultural competence, cultural humility, culturally responsive practices or diversity, equity and inclusion. You must list these hours in your application but do not need to attach documentation. More information may be found on our Continuing Education page.

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence: NOT required for Reinstatement. 

Hearing Aid Specialists

  • Continuing Education: At least 10 hours in the last 12 months and directly pertaining to the practice of Hearing Aid Dispensing. At least 1 of the 10 hours must relate to ethics, cultural competence, cultural humility, culturally responsive practices or diversity, equity and inclusion. You must list these hours in your application but do not need to attach documentation.   • Dispensing Examinations: You must retake both the written and practical examinations unless one of the conditions below applies:

Instructions

 

1. Download, complete & sign the License Reinstatement Application

2. Submit the application and any required documents to us via email at board@nvspeechhearing.org.

3. Pay the $200.00 reinstatement fee through our online payment page with a debit or credit card. (Note: the Board will accept a check by mail, but this is not the preferred method of payment and will delay processing, as the application review will not begin until payment is received.)

4. Once a complete application packet is received we typically issue the license within 3-5 business days. You will be notified via email and sent a PDF copy of the license. 

Please note that if you have continued to practice in Nevada since your license expired, your reinstatement application may require additional review by the Board.
